Competition Wraps at 55th Annual California Dressage Society & GAIG/USDF Region 7 Championships

Burbank CA: Competition wrapped up today at the 55th Annual California Dressage Society and 2022 GAIG/USDF Region 7 Championships. Over 200 horses competed in four rings, over four days at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. More than seventy-five championship titles were awarded to Open, Amateur and Junior riders. One of the major dressage events in California, the combined championship is an immense undertaking with more than 100 volunteers and staff.

FIRST CDS GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS, SPONSORED BY HALTER EGO PRESENTED ON THIRD EVENING OF COMPETITON

Burbank, CA: The first California Dressage Society Grand Champions, sponsored by Halter Ego, were awarded tonight at this 55th Annual Championship Show. Allida Jantz Taylor (Aptos, CA) and Global Equestrian Imports, Quarter Fox won the overall Intermediaire I title. The 2009 German Sporthorse was third in the Intermediaire class earlier in the weekend.

Grand Prix and Futurity Champions Awarded on Second Day of CDS 55th Annual Championship Show

BURBANK, CA: Genay Vaughn (Elk Grove, CA) captured the top prize of the day winning the 2022 CDS Open Grand Prix Championship, sponsored by Buchalter Equine Law. Riding Gino, the 2011 KWPN Gelding, owned by Michelle Vaughn, Genay scored a 73.804, taking home the winner’s share of the $1000 purse, CDS Jacket and Sherry DeLeon Memorial Trophy, and this in only the horse’s fourth Grand Prix.

Prix St. Georges Champions Awarded on First Day At CDS 55th Annual Championship Show

BURBANK, CA: Rebecca Rigdon (Cardiff, CA) captured the first awards of the 2022 CDS Championships on Ad Astra Collective’s 2014 KWPN Gelding, Jagger. The pair bested a field of nine with a 69.412%. Rigdon has been riding Jagger since he was four and has garnered multiple National Young Horse awards in the 4, 5, and 6-Year-Old as well as being named to the US Emerging and Developing Horse programs.
