BURBANK, CA: Rebecca Rigdon (Cardiff, CA) captured the first awards of the 2022 CDS Championships on Ad Astra Collective’s 2014 KWPN Gelding, Jagger. The pair bested a field of nine with a 69.412%. Rigdon has been riding Jagger since he was four and has garnered multiple National Young Horse awards in the 4, 5, and 6-Year-Old as well as being named to the US Emerging and Developing Horse programs.
When describing her “Boo” (Jagger’s barn name) Rigdon is obviously smitten, “He is as good as you ride him, and he is like that every day. Before him, I’d never had a young horse with such a good brain. You have to love that.” For those of you that wonder if professionals, like Rigdon, with multiple mounts, can have a real personal relationship with the horses they ride, the smile on her face while talking says a lot. Of course, his barn name of “Boo” or “Beau” is because he is “my boo…friend” says something too. The pair will compete in the Region 7 PSG this weekend and then in 2023 move up to Grand Prix.
